Good morning 👋 OpenAI just threatened to report Microsoft to antitrust regulators. The two have partnered for years, with Microsoft trading cash and cloud resources for early access to OpenAI’s tech. But now that they’re competing head-to-head in the AI market, it’s over. OpenAI wants more freedom. Microsoft wants to keep its advantage. Turns out billion-dollar AI deals have all the maturity of a high school breakup.

🌎 Sam Altman says AI should get most of Earth’s electricity. Seriously? For chatbots? Meanwhile, CEOs from Exxon, BP, Oxy, and big tech met behind closed doors in D.C. yesterday to plan how to feed AI’s endless hunger for energy. UAE-backed investors organized the invite-only summit, stacking the guest list with oil and gas heavyweights. Time to place your bets on who gets to keep the lights on when AI takes over the grid.

🚁 Miami is getting autonomous air taxis. Wisk Aero is collaborating with Miami-Dade County and the University of Miami to build vertiports – mini airports designed specifically for vertical takeoff. Wisk’s Gen 6 air taxi is all electric and has no pilot. It looks like a futuristic cross between a helicopter and a drone. Let’s see how these robot taxis handle spring break.

🗣️ Worldcoin turns proof of humanity into a fun earworm. Sam Altman’s Worldcoin just released a catchy ad with singing cavemen, Michelangelo, and the Wright Brothers cheerfully selling retina scans as a friendly proof of humanity. Yes, nothing says “trustworthy” like handing over your eyeballs to a glowing orb in exchange for crypto tokens. It even comes with a crypto wallet for anonymous logins to Web3 platforms – famously safe spaces for losing your life savings. Maybe slap a label on it: “Definitely not dystopian. Totally legit. 100% entertainment only.”

🧠 Here come the cyborg babies. Scale AI’s CEO (and self-made billionaire) Alexandr Wang is delaying kids until he can get them brain chips at birth. He believes early childhood is the best time to merge with AI. Young brains naturally soak up new tech, easily mastering skills adults struggle with (like controlling computers using only their thoughts). Better hope these chips age better than our smartphones.

Don't build alone

Buildpad’s Idea Generator gives you vetted SaaS ideas. Choose your industry and it delivers unique, clearly defined problem and solution pairs. It doesn’t stop at ideas. Buildpad scans forums and online communities to verify if your target customers actually care.

Why does it matter? Guessing is expensive. Buildpad cuts weeks of research by showing real demand, market size, and competition. Get actionable data before you build.

Use it to test your startup idea or quickly find your next profitable niche. Build something people already want, not something you hope they’ll need.

📙 Zines are officially cool again. With social media drowning in bots, surveillance, and censorship, people are swapping Instagram for Xerox machines and staplers. Zine fairs are popping up, letting communities share ideas freely without worrying about shadowbans or corporate algorithms. Turns out the most disruptive social network is made of paper.

🤔 Is AI getting smarter or are we getting dumber? In a recent op ed, a Forbes tech council member argues artificial general intelligence isn’t “coming soon.” It’s already reshaping society. But there’s a catch. Experts warn the more we rely on these powerful systems, the less we think for ourselves. The danger isn’t AI taking control. It’s that we’re willingly giving up the wheel, becoming passengers in a world run by machines.
