Good morning 👋 Ever notice how tech skipped right past flying cars, teleportation, and hoverboards and went straight for ultra-realistic sex robots? The booming sextech industry is currently on track to top $107B by 2030, with heavyweights like OpenAI and xAI openly exploring gen AI erotica. Meanwhile, Microsoft’s AI chief is loudly promising the company will never build sex bots. Either that’s responsible innovation, or it’s the tech equivalent of ordering a salad at a steakhouse.

🔥 Did OpenAI lose a mind-melting $11.5 billion in a single quarter? Hidden deep inside Microsoft’s latest financial statements is a bombshell: their stake in the AI startup caused a $3.1B hit to profits, implying total losses nearly 3x that amount. Considering OpenAI brought in only about $4.3B in revenue over half a year, that loss is astronomically bad. But don’t panic. Microsoft earned over $27B profit last quarter alone, so funding Sam Altman’s giant bonfire of cash is apparently no sweat.

🐪  Saudi Arabia wants to be the new global center of AI power. They’re investing billions into massive data centers, promising cheap energy and plenty of space for your AI workloads. It’s all part of “Vision 2030,” a bold plan to move beyond oil and dominate AI. But there’s a catch. To get their hands on advanced US chips, the Gulf state has to promise they’ll steer clear of Huawei tech. This seems unlikely, given they do business with China and host DeepSeek in their data centers. Washington better start brushing up on Arabic.

⏱️ Cursor is reinventing itself with Composer, a speedy new multi-agent coding model built from scratch. After a brutal summer of pricing backlash, security nightmares, and devs mockingly renaming it “Cursed IDE,” Cursor is back with a proprietary LLM that’s 4x faster than frontier models. Built for complex, real world software environments, Composer enables multiple AI agents to collaborate at scale. This isn’t just an upgrade; it’s a strategic reset that positions Cursor 2.0 as a powerful competitor to Claude 4.5 Sonnet.

💔 Character.AI is giving kids 26 days to say goodbye to their best friends. After multiple lawsuits, the company decided AI chatbots are too risky for teens under 18. Mental health experts now warn that abruptly cutting off users who formed deep emotional bonds with these AI companions could cause even more harm. Regulators are scrambling to ban chatbots for minors, but maybe they should’ve thought of that before algorithms started playing therapist.

🤜🤛 Together with Flow

Work at the speed of thought

Wispr Flow turns your words into edit-free text in every app with zero setup.

Why leaders love it: Typing is tiring. Flow let’s you dictate emails, docs, and code 4x faster. On the go or at your desk, it gets your words out and makes it sounds like you, not a bot.

Ditch your keyboard. Use Flow to fly through Slack notifications, brain dump with ease in Notion, or give better prompts to Claude or Cursor.

Used by pros at OpenAI, NVIDIA, and Loveable to get more done.

🐎 Uber’s CEO says driving cars will soon be like horseback riding. In about 20 years, all cars will be autonomous, and people will only drive as a nostalgic weekend hobby. Robotaxis already cause 91% fewer crashes than human drivers, and even if there are accidents, Waymo’s CEO says society will accept it when their cars inevitably kill someone.

☢️ The US just signed the weirdest nuclear deal in history. We’re backing an $80 billion contract with Westinghouse, a company recently bankrupt from similar nuclear projects. Terms of the deal say the government gets a 20% dividend cut, but only after Westinghouse profits hit exactly $17.5 billion. If they somehow reach a $30 billion valuation in three years, the US might even score equity warrants. The deal specifies a minimum of 10 reactors without mentioning how many gigawatts these reactors must produce. And best of all, Japan is paying for the entire thing. Now that’s negotiating.

🍃 Bill Gates thinks climate activists are killing the vibe. In a recent blog post, the billionaire philanthropist argues the climate movement should shift from obsessing over emissions targets to focusing more on “health and prosperity.” Never mind that just 57 corporations cause 80% of global emissions, or that Microsoft itself is struggling to meet its own climate goals thanks to AI. Gates insists climate change won’t lead to the complete destruction of humanity, so everyone should cheer up and trust tech solutions like AI farming to solve things.
