Good morning  👋 to everyone except reality purists, because your day is about to get…complicated. If you thought TikTok was a productivity black hole before, wait until every video is a pure AI fabrication. OpenAI is launching an app powered by its latest AI video model, Sora 2. It looks exactly like TikTok, complete with vertical scrolling, fully AI-generated clips, and a feed personalized by algorithms. Reality had a good run while it lasted.

💬 Plus: Microsoft invents the cringiest term yet, calling AI-assisted office drudgery “vibe working.”

👑 Jensen Huang is the kingpin of the AI economy. Nobody launches a chip without kissing his ring first. Amazon and Google quietly check in before releasing their own AI hardware, careful not to step on Nvidia’s turf. Nvidia dropped $5B on a deal with Intel just to muscle AMD out, locked down OpenAI with a stunning $100B investment, and even collects a casual 60% markup from customers along the way. Nvidia calls it pricing power; everyone else calls it paying tribute. Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

🦾 Anthropic’s new AI just spent 30 hours coding without coffee breaks. The company’s latest model, Claude Sonnet 4.5, autonomously churned out 11,000 lines of code to build a Slack-style chat app from scratch. Anthropic claims this makes Sonnet the best AI yet at independently navigating real-world tasks, from cybersecurity to financial services. Does the code actually work? Who knows. But coding 30 hours straight without spending half of it arguing on Stack Overflow feels like a major win.

🏛️  Every empire eventually falls. China’s chipmakers are now “nanoseconds behind” Nvidia and openly plotting regime change. Huawei just doubled production of its flagship AI chips and plans to crank out 1.6 million next year alone. They’re also building massive SuperPod clusters packed with over 15,000 GPUs, explicitly designed to break Nvidia’s chokehold. Huang himself is even publicly begging Washington to ease export controls, admitting China’s about to crash his party. Suddenly, the AI hardware throne looks shakier than anyone imagined.

🌎 OpenAI says humanity needs 10B GPUs when there’s only 8.2B people on Earth. They claim AI will soon run continuously, proactively handling your tasks even while you’re asleep. Compute power will become as essential as electricity and everyone will have their own dedicated GPU. At current prices, that’ll cost roughly $70 trillion – more than 3x the entire US economy.  When the whole world runs on GPUs, who holds the power switch?

🧨 A lot can change in a week. One minute, analysts were telling us the AI boom couldn’t possibly be a bubble since big tech funded it with cold, hard profits instead of risky debt. Then Oracle dropped an $18B bond sale and plans to borrow $25B every year just to bankroll its massive OpenAI contract. Smaller players like CoreWeave and Nebius immediately piled on debt too. Now Wall Street is sweating, having vivid flashbacks to the telecom crash, and wondering if “stable footing” was secretly code for “financial dumpster fire” this entire time.

fun stats

$4.8 trillion

global market forecast for AI by 2033 🔮 That’s 4x it’s  current share of the frontier tech market, or roughly the size of Germany’s economy.
